Skipping School

All photos by Sarah!

I don't show you photos of me in my studio much/ever on here. I'm not sure why! I guess that I think it might be boring for you? I just thought it would be good to point out that the photos I post on here of me going for outings and nice things like that are not everyday occurrences. I spend most of my time in the sewing room, which is in my house, which means it is very easy for me to stay in there working til late and on weekends. Because I am still only just starting out on this whole creative business thing, I also still work two days a week at a 'day job' for some extra cash money security (though I prefer to think of Frances Baker as my day job, seeing as it's what I put my heart and energy into). So overall I am pretty busy!

I am certainly not complaining in the least, I love it all so very much, even if I do get a bit worn out at times. I just thought I'd point that out for anyone else who works lots and lots too, my life is certainly not all trips to the hills and cafe visits, don't worry! I just like to post about the fun things on here because they are nice to share.

These photos are from one such fun thing a few weeks ago. The weather in Melbourne was positively indian Summer-ish, and I was a pretty tired after just finishing up my Autumn/Winter collection. So Sarah (who also works from home most days) and I decided to skip school for a few hours and head into the city for some magazine reading and cafe visiting. I guess the fact that we don't do it too often makes it all the more special and fun when we do, because it was such a lovely afternoon!
