Pepper and Amparo

My cold last weekend turned out to be a week long thing that had both Sam and I out of action, and turned me into a grumpy, sick mess for most of the week. I don't get sick very often, and when I do I don't cope very well! I get frustrated at not being able to do anything, and then I try and do things but don't enjoy doing them, and make myself even more tired and sick. Yuk! On top of that, it has been mighty cold here in Melbourne over the long weekend, so all in all Sam and I have made no outdoor excursions to speak of! As such, I decided not to wait any longer and to take some photos of Lauren's beautiful Amparo dress in my natural habitat.

Lauren made this adorable version of the amparo for me in the nicest chambray fabric, as part of a little dress swap we did. I am so excited to finally own a Blooming Leopold dress of my very own! The Amparo is probably my favourite Blooming Leopold number (along with the Appleyard Pintuck dress!)

The furry little friend you see in these photos is Sam and my new kitty, Pepper! She is a shelter kitten, 6 months old, and such a friendly little sweetie. Apparently she was a street cat before the shelter picked her up, but she is not shy at all, and loves to meet and have cuddles with everyone who stops by. I am so happy to finally have a kitty in the house, it's such a homely, happy thing!

I'm planning to spend the rest of this Queen's Birthday holiday Monday trying to catch up on some of the work I fell behind with last week, eep! I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend :)
