Our little vegetable patch is starting to come along rather nicely! Back at the start of winter we planted some broccoli, carrots, beetroot, cos lettuce and spinach, and they have all come along quite well. I was actually pretty surprised, we seem to have been a bit lucky as neither Sam or I have much of a clue when it comes to gardening, we are just learning through trial and error (and the occasional Google search!)
I have actually been enjoying gardening so much that for the past month or so I've been volunteering for one morning a week at CERES, a community environment reserve near my house that works to educate people about the environment and sustainability. They have a cool little nursery there, and I've been helping out with propagating seedlings to sell at the nursery. It's been really great for learning more about growing things! The best bit though is that for three hours a week I get out of the house and take a little break from the sewing machine in the fresh air and sunshine. It was positively blissful to be out there this morning, Melbourne smells amazing right now. Spring is most definitely in the air!

You look so cute rummaging around in your garden! I'm impressed by the produce you are getting! I wish we had some land for a garden. I grew up with a garden and I miss all the lovely fresh vegetables and fruit we would get. But I am going back home this weekend and I hope there will be a few tomatoes left! There is nothing like a fresh tomato from the garden! Btw, so crazy that we are getting into the fall season while spring is happening in your neck of the woods. I love to hear about the changing seasons over there! xo
